For it’s time, Aldon’s Crossing featured some of the most advanced features ever presented in a hand-held game.  Including color graphics, the game only occupied 530k memory.

Some of those features included:

• Smooth scrolling graphics and Real-time combat.
• Intuitive Smart tapping; tap on an enemy to attack, tap on a friend to talk.
• Save game slots with character name and timestamp including a slot for quick loads and quick saves.
• Battery check feature with automatic battery notification if you are below 50% for each 5% lost.
• Autosaves when quitting the game.
• Infrared beaming to trasfer the game, its databases, and saved games to a friend with no synching to a computer.
• Customize your palm(tm) device’s hard and soft keys.
• Play multiple modules, or create your own through our free Windows application: ModMaker.
• Import your favorite character from one module to another.
• Fog of War: map is revealed as you explore it.
• Autogenerated mini-map for the player.
• Creatures use pathing algorithms to find you around corners and through doors.
• Left handed feature to make user interface more accessible to left handed people.
• Tabbed ‘Hot Bars’ that were completely customizable giving players 27 buttons on 3 different pages.
• Vibrant and animated game world including animated flags, torches, water, and secret doors that slide open and closed.
• Three different playable races: the robust dwarf, an agile elf, or the versatile human.
• Four different playable classes: Fighter, Mage, Priest, or Thief. Each class has different and powerful abilities.
• RPG Abilities including Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Luck attributes.  All of which affect gameplay.
• Pets and henchmen that follow and fight for you, automatically switching between melee and ranged weapons as the situation demands, and gaining experience alongside the player.
• Powerful spells allow you to summon forth powerful monsters to fight for you or create fireballs and ice storms.
• Visit shopkeepers to buy and sell various items including weapons, armors, and powerful potions.
• Powerful scripting language allows you to create many different types of gameplay scenarios from simple signposts to patrolling guards and monsters.
